John McLean is a longtime Fort Myers Beach resident with deep roots in the community and a strong record of civic engagement. A homeowner since 2014 and full-time resident since 2019, McLean has been actively involved in the Town’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Ian. He currently serves as an appointed member of the Town’s Land Planning Agency, where he reviews land-use and redevelopment proposals and brings a balanced, resident-focused perspective grounded in the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. Professionally, McLean brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience, including global strategic planning, negotiation, and consensus-building at the senior director level. His background, combined with consistent attendance at Town Council and advisory board meetings and early volunteer leadership with community recovery initiatives, reflects a commitment to thoughtful governance, environmental stewardship, and preserving the unique character of Fort Myers Beach while planning responsibly for its future.
