Collier County Public Utilities is conducting work to replace the transmission water main on Bonita Beach Road from Feb. 23 to March 17. The water main, located near 5025 Bonita Beach Road, has recently developed a series of leaks. Work will take place primarily in the evenings, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., to minimize disruption to the community.
While the contractor is on site, the southern east bound lane of Bonita Beach Road will be closed to traffic. The sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians on the south side of Bonita Beach Road from Lely Barefoot Beach Boulevard to West Avenue. Signage will be in place to detour pedestrians to the sidewalk on the north side of the road.
Fort Myers Beach residents should expect delays, while traveling Southbound toward Bonita Beach Road during these times.
