On July 11, 2024, at 10:30am, the Town of Fort Myers Beach received the notice below from the Hazard Mitigation Team with Tidal Basin. This message applies to residents who applied for the FDEM Mitigation and Elevation Program:
"We hope your summer is going well! We wanted to take a moment to ensure you are updated with what we currently know, but also to introduce you to your new Point of Contact with Tidal Basin, Diederik Bissett, Diederik.bissett@tidalbasingroup.com.
Regarding the elevation and reconstruction applications, they are still under review at the state level. Florida is considered a Program Administration by States (PAS) which leaves FDEM to complete all the reviews and approvals of the grant applications before sending them to FEMA for final approval and obligation. We are doing our best to ensure the application keeps moving forward while FDEM continues its review of the applications that we have submitted under Hurricane Ian.
