Community Conversationswith Sara Ayers-Rigsby at Mound HouseJoin us Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00pm for a talk by Sara Ayers-Rigsby, Director of the SE/SW Regions of Florida for the Florida Public Archaeology Network. She will be speaking on "Resilient Southwest Florida: Working Together to Create a Stable Future". For millennia, Southwest Florida has served as a place for human use and settlement. Cultural sites that have survived through this time help provide a link between past use of these areas and modern use. Unfortunately, hurricanes Milton, Helene, and Ian had a devesting impact to archaeological sites and cultural resources in Southwest Florida. This talk will provide an overview of the impacts of these storms to the region and offer models of partnership and community engagement that can help us all work together to protect these sites for the future. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Mound House Members enjoy free admission, while regular admission is just $5, which includes museum access, light refreshments, and the program. We look forward to seeing you there!
